The project goal was to advocate the problem solving of ambient air pollution in Rustavi through raising public awareness and increasing civic activism.<\/p>\n

With the financial support of the Heinrich Boell Foundation Tbilisi Office, the following activities were carried out for the above-mentioned purpose: Public Meetings, Eco-Travels, Info-Tour for Media Representatives, Info-Tours for Citizens at the Industrial Zone, Tour for Diplomats at the Industrial Zone, Flashmob, The sculpture on the air pollution issue was created, etc.<\/p>\n

As per project objectives, these activities were planned in two directions:<\/p>\n

Raising awareness<\/strong> of the population, especially of the youth living in Rustavi, about the air pollution problem in the city;<\/p>\n

Strengthening the eco-activists network in Rustavi<\/strong> by informing the population about Gavigudet\u2019s activities and ways of involvement.<\/p>\n

In 2022, with the support of the Tbilisi office of the Heinrich B\u00f6ll Foundation, a second project was implemented in March-September, within the framework of which:<\/p>\n

– Organized weekly monitoring of the industrial zone and an informational tour of the industrial zone;<\/p>\n

– Prepared info-graphics showing the average index of the air quality of Rustavi and its comparison with other cities were published every month;<\/p>\n

– Based on the inspection protocols of the Department of Environmental Supervision, prepared 2 short reports;<\/p>\n

– Prepared info-graphics about the harmful effects of air pollution on women’s health;<\/p>\n

– Organized 2 movie screenings and training for pupils on advocacy of green topics;<\/p>\n

– Organized “Call 153” and “Letter to the Minister” activities;<\/p>\n
