\"\"Today, on April 26th<\/sup>, a public deliberation of the EIA report of “Recycling” LLC was held in Rustavi City Hall regarding the project of the preparation and operation of the harmful and non-harmful waste pretreatment and recovery enterprise.<\/p>\n

The deliberation was attended by representatives of the civil movement “Gavigudet”, the company, the National Environmental Agency, the City Hall of Rustavi and the City Council.<\/p>\n

Our team provided information about the mentioned deliberation to the population in advance (see post<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The company aims to organize an enterprise that will carry out the following operations:<\/p>\n

– Waste collection;<\/p>\n

– Transportation;<\/p>\n

\u2013 Temporary storage;<\/p>\n

\u2013 Preliminary processing;<\/p>\n

– Recovery.<\/p>\n

The enterprise has planned:<\/p>\n

– Processing of aluminum scrap and obtaining pure aluminum by thermal metallurgy;<\/p>\n

– Processing of electrical cable waste in order to obtain secondary raw material;<\/p>\n

– Processing of aluminum-polymer waste in order to obtain secondary raw material;<\/p>\n

– Processing of used oil filter residues to obtain secondary raw material;<\/p>\n

– Recycling of waste of worn-out household electronic devices in order to obtain secondary raw material;<\/p>\n

– Processing of aluminum cans in order to obtain secondary raw material;<\/p>\n

– Processing waste oil of automobiles for reusing of oils;<\/p>\n

– Processing of worn-out tires to obtain secondary raw material;<\/p>\n

– Processing of timber waste and production of pallets;<\/p>\n

– Charcoal production.<\/p>\n

As the company’s representatives explained at the deliberation, since the production process includes the melting stage, the enterprise has the obligation of self-monitoring and the company has an agreement with the Turkish manufacturer regarding the monitoring device. However, the dust collection device\/filter issue is not specified in the EIA report. We did not get an answer at the meeting regarding this problem. As it turns out, the installation of the filtration system is not considered at this stage.<\/p>\n

Both the issue of arranging a drainage system and the issue of wastewater management are unspecified.<\/p>\n
