\"\"Today, on December 23, the civil movement “Gavigudet” organized a working group meeting to discuss and prepare comments\/notes on the EIA report of the metallurgical plant “Aglomerate” LLC.<\/p>\n

In Rustavi, “Aglomerate” LLC plans to arrange and exploit a roasting of metal-bearing ore and a sinter factory that will produce 66000 t\/year of agglomerate for 7920 hours annually.<\/p>\n

8 sintering pans with auxiliary facilities and infrastructure will be arranged on the territory of the enterprise. The production area includes a sinter workshop, a raw material warehouse, and a closed warehouse of the product.<\/p>\n

A hangar-type partially closed building will be arranged in the production area. In particular, the whole warehouse of storage services will be closed.<\/p>\n

The sinter production cycle includes the following facilities: 1. agglomeration workshop; 2. raw material warehouse; 3. closed warehouse for the product.<\/p>\n

Harmful substances, emitted as a result of the activity are as follows: inorganic dust, manganese dioxide, nitrogen dioxide (NO2<\/sub>), sulfur dioxide (SO2<\/sub>), carbon monoxide (CO), chromium (Cr+6), ZnO, lead and its compounds, nickel, cadmium sulfate, arsenic, copper oxide, \u00a0mercury, selenium. The highest rate of total emissions comes from inorganic dust, SO2<\/sub>, and CO.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, our group discussed the EIA report in detail and prepared a written position, outlining the movement\u2019s remarks and recommendations, which we will share with the population and the National Environment Agency.<\/p>\n

The public deliberation of the EIA report of the “Aglomerati” LLC will be held in the City Hall of Rustavi Municipality, on December 27, at 14:00. Every citizen has the right to attend the meeting.<\/p>\n
