\"\"On August 16, the civil movement \u201cGavigudet\u201d organized a working group meeting in order to discuss and prepare comments\/notes on the scoping report of the ferroalloy plant \u2013 \u201cAMB Alloys\u201d LLC.<\/p>\n

For the time being, the company produces ferrosilicomanganese and is planning to set up a new technological line of 75% ferrosilicon (Fesi).<\/p>\n

In addition to arranging new technological line, the report also discusses the changes, made in the existing plant:<\/p>\n

– Parameters (height and diameter) of the united exhaust pipe of ferroalloys melting furnace have been changed;<\/p>\n

– Changed the disposal conditions for the by-product (slag), particularly, warehousing location;<\/p>\n

– Slight changes have been made in the gen-plan of the enterprise, namely, mutual deployment of the production areas;<\/p>\n

– Usage of transformer oil regeneration\/restoration equipment is planned on the territory, which was not provided by the existing environmental decision;<\/p>\n

– Improvement of the drainage water management is also considered.<\/p>\n

Substances, emitted during the production process are following: nitrogen dioxide, nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, kerosene fraction of hydrocarbons, inorganic dust.<\/p>\n

The meeting was held in a zoom format and was led by the invited trainer. After the thorough review of the scoping report trainer and working group members prepared evidence-based remarks and recommendations, in a written manner, which we will share with the National Environmental Agency, as well as with the population.<\/p>\n

The public deliberation of the scoping report is planned at 13:00, on August 18, in the City Hall of Rustavi Municipality. Anyone can attend the meeting.<\/p>\n

The meeting was held with the financial support of \u201cEuropean Endowment for Democracy\u201d in the framework of the project \u201cDefending Our Right to Clean Air\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n
