Today, on April 20, the members of the civil movement “Gavigudet” met with the Ambassador of the United States of America to Georgia – Kelly Degnan.<\/p>\nToday, on April 20, the members of the civil movement “Gavigudet” met with the Ambassador of the United States of America to Georgia – Kelly Degnan.<\/p>\n
The meeting was held in the Rustavi office of the Network of Centers for Civic Engagement and was attended by the members of our team and volunteers.<\/p>\n
We talked to the Ambassador about the current situation and challenges, as well as our achievements. Unfortunately, the problem of air pollution in Rustavi is not only an environmental issue and it, in addition to enterprises, indicates defects in the work of various central or local institutions. During the meeting, Ambassador Degnan emphasized the importance of community involvement and cooperation in various sectors. She showed her support once again and provided us with several interesting ideas for further work. Ambassador was also interested in the court trial which will be held on May 3.<\/p>\n

The support of the US Embassy has particular importance to our team, as in 2020 USAID \/ EWMI ACCESS was one of our first supporters.<\/p>\n
We would like to thank Ambassador Degnan for the visit. We highly appreciate it when such high-level diplomats are interested in such topics. It was emphasized at the meeting that “Gavigudet” is an example of a successful civil movement not only for the city but also at the state and international levels.
