Although the production process has not started yet in the mentioned enterprise, the representatives of the company wanted our team to get acquainted with the current works on the spot, to see the result of the reequipment of the enterprise and to share our recommendations with them.<\/p>\n
According to the company representative, the company is the legal successor of LLC “Georgian Alloy Group” (they bought the enterprise about 3 months ago and fully re-equipped it). Due to the size of production, the enterprise is not required to prepare an EIA report and its predecessor manages the scoping account of the enterprise. Our team will request this report in the near future and will provide you with more detailed information about the enterprise. As the representatives explained to us, the start of the production process is planned in about 2 weeks.<\/p>\n
We saw at the site that the process of installing filters has started in the enterprise. 270 filters will be installed – each filter 9.5 meters high. As we learned during the visit, the company has also purchased a Japanese-made device (so called emission measurement device) that continuously measures emissions by an instrumental method. Company officials said it would take about two months for the device to arrive and be installed on the site. As we were told, after joining the system of the Ministry, the publicity of the monitoring results is not a problem for the company, which we welcome, as well as the fact that according to the representatives of the company, if we wish, they will give us the opportunity to get acquainted with the production process at any time.<\/p>\n

However, since the start of the production process is planned in the near future, it is likely that in the first months, LLC “MN Group” will not fulfill its obligation to continuously determine the actual number of emissions from stationary sources of pollution into the ambient air during the organized emission by using the instrumental method. But filters will be used as soon as production starts.<\/p>\n
Also, our recommendation was to apply to the Ministry of Environmental and Agriculture and seek the details necessary for the inclusion in the electronic self-monitoring system, so that as soon as the self-monitoring device is received, they can fulfill their legal obligations in a timely manner.<\/p>\n
We hope that this enterprise will function in full compliance with the law and will take maximum care of the health of the people employed there and the population of the city.<\/p>\n
“Gaigudet” continues to monitor the production zone and reiterates that our goal is not to close any enterprise, but to facilitate the process that will allow enterprises to operate in compliance with regulations and pose as little threat to human health and life as possible.<\/p>\n

We also welcome the opening of new enterprises, however, it is necessary to establish a norm for the load on the city enterprises, so that the cumulative (joint) action does not harm the people living in Rustavi and its surroundings.<\/p>\n
