\"\"Today, on June 3rd, “Gavigudet” attended the public deliberation on the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of “MN Chemical Georgia” (LLC) (Manganese sulphate plant design and operation project).<\/p>\n

During the meeting, we discussed various issues, including the readiness of the enterprise, owned by the same company, for new regulations.<\/p>\n

After the meeting, we inspected the project area and existing enterprise, which continues to operate.<\/p>\n

Because the filtration system was switched on, we did not detect any visible alarming rate of emissions in the factory. According to the head of the company, their filtration system is automatic mode is automatic and shuts down only when the production process stops.<\/p>\n

We learned from the representatives of the enterprise that negotiations are underway with Chinese companies regarding the purchase of the automatic emission\u2019s sensor. According to them, the procurement procedures should be completed within a month and then transportation will be needed. The absence of such a device on the Georgian market was named as the reason for not already having one installed. In the second half of June, we will definitely check whether the sensor was purchased or not.<\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that the subsidiary of “MN Chemical Georgia”, LLC “Sulfeco” plans to set up and operate a sulfuric acid plant in the surrounding area. Permission for this has already been issued by the Ministry.<\/p>\n

The project Defending Our Right to Clean Air in Rustavi is being implemented with the support of the European Endowment for Democracy.<\/em><\/p>\n
